UK based Irish clarinettist Jessie Grimes originally studied Music Education at Dublin University, Trinity College, where she gained qualifications in 2008 as a secondary school teacher, as well as an instrumental clarinet teacher.
A decade on, and teaching is still a huge passion of Jessie's.
Jessie was a clarinet professor at the Royal College of Music Junior Department for a decade until late 2023, and also taught for many years as part of the Music Department at St Dunstans College, Catford.
She has had students make it to the BBC Young Musician of the Year Woodwind finals, win places on NYO, at various conservatoires across the UK, and join programmes such as LPO Young Artists.
For the academic year 2023-24 Jessie is travelling a lot, so offering clarinet lessons mainly online.
Jessie also enjoys leading clarinet masterclasses, and has done for organisations such as Camerata Ireland's Clandeboye Festival Academy, Britten Pears Arts' Aldeburgh Young Musicians, and on behalf of the Royal Overseas League.
